Recipe: Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies!

If there's one thing I've been seriously craving since my time in Italy it would be chocolate chip cookies! Believe it or not, gelato, cannoli and tiramisu can only go so far. Yes, I was surprised too! But man. I've been craving those hot and gooey cookies that melt in your mouth and I'd do anything to smell a homemade cookie kitchen right now! I bookmarked this mouth watering recipe {link} the other day and you better believe it's one of the first things I'm making when I'm back in my kitchen at home. It only takes 20 minutes to prepare, 15 minutes to bake and 5 seconds to gobble up a cookie!

P.S. A helpful hint when storing cookies! Make sure to store them in a sealed container with a slice of sandwich bread inside! It maintains their softness and keeps them gooey for days! I'm not sure why this works but I promise it's a miracle!

I have great summer memories of running inside to eat fresh out of the oven chocolate chip cookies, rinsing off chocolate chip hands in the hose and heading out to play again. Try out this recipe for me and let me live my homemade chocolate chip cookie cravings vicariously through you! (Or feel free to send me some!!) But I'd love to know what you think! Does anyone else have a go-to chocolate chip cookie recipe?!

Hot Apple Cider Recipe!

{Photo // Oh Sweet Joy}

With the Fall breeze just now starting to set in it's time to start ticking off my Fall bucket list. What's number one on the list? Getting my hands on some homemade apple cider. Being away at school means that it's up to me to accomplish this so I set out to Pinterest to find the perfect recipe! After scrolling through endless posts I finally found one that 1. seemed actually doable and 2. looked delicious! This recipe takes only 30 minutes to make and it serves 6 friends!

Grocery List:
6 cups of Apple Juice
1 Orange (cut into 1/4 inch slices)
6 whole cloves
2 cinnamon sticks
1/2 tsp ground allspice
Cheesecloth and string

How you make it!
1. Pour your 6 cups of juice into a large pot. Bring your juice to a boil for 5 minutes.
2. Wrap your oranges and spices in the cheesecloth and tie with a string.
3. Add your bundle to the pot.
3. Reduce the heat to low and let the cider simmer for 20 minutes.
4. Remove the spice bundle and serve the cider hot with cinnamon sticks!

This is such a great recipe for a Fall get-together or just a cozy refreshment after a long day. Try out this recipe and let me know what you think! Does anyone else have a great apple cider recipe?!
